Our Work

FULLERTON RESIDENCE

The Fullerton residence, an original1950’s ranch style home just outside Los Angeles, was an extensive remodel project. The scope included a complete make-over from foundations up, including complete new facades, new raised reshaped roof and new hardscape & landscape over the entire property.

The client’s intention was to create a completely new contemporary home using the existing attached guest room, garage, tennis courts and pool as a starting point. Working closely with the client in both physical & 3-d computer models and drawings the house was completely reimagined as a contemporary light filled landscape engaging environment. The long front façade, bisected at the middle creating a new raised glass entry hood/porch, visually welcomes visitors into the home. The new sloped back and forth folding roof structure, defines the new entry, new raised living and dining rooms and new slanted glass
clerestories with views of the surrounding existing tree tops. The new living and dining spaces,
focused on the new Bulthaup exhibition kitchen, link directly to the outdoors by way of a thirty foot
retractable sliding glass door opening to the covered outdoor kitchen and dining area. Beyond that
the pool and adjacent fire pit, tennis courts, open yard and existing Barn with orchard define the
larger outdoor room.

Overall the experience is one where the entire house has been reinvented in
such a way that interior and exterior rooms blur as roof lines merge and connect creating a
completely contemporary California living environment, indoors and out.
